Sekilas Tentang Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo

Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo merupakan satu-satunya rumah sakit mata milik Pemerintah Pusat yang berada di lingkungan Direktorat Jenderal Bina Pelayanan Medik Departemen Kesehatan RI. Rumah Sakit ini diresmikan oleh Gubernur Jenderal J.B. Van Heutsz pada tanggal 3 Januari 1909 dengan nama Koningin Wilhelmina Gasthuis voor Ooglijders dengan direktur pertamanya Dr. C.H.A Westhoff.

Pada jaman pendudukan Jepang tahun 1942 – 1945 sempat menjadi Rumah Sakit Umum menggantikan Rumah Sakit Rancabadak yang saat itu berfungsi sebagai Rumah Sakit Militer. Kemudian pada tahun 1980 rumah sakit ini berganti nama menjadi Rumah Sakit Mata Tjitjendo dan sekarang menjadi Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo.

Sesuai Surat Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan RI No.1040/MenKes/SK/XI/1992 tentang Organisasi dan Tata Kerja, Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo ditetapkan sebagai Pusat Rujukan Kesehatan Mata Nasional tahun 1992.

Selanjutnya, sesuai Surat Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan No. 045/Per/I/2007 tanggal 15 Januari 2007 Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo ditetapkan sebagai Rumah Sakit Khusus Kelas A Pendidikan serta sesuai Surat Keputusan Menteri Keuangan RI No. 276/RMK05/ VI/2007 tanggal 21 Juni 2007 dan Surat Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 756/ Menkes/SK/VI/2007 Rumah Sakit Mata Cicendo ditetapkan menjadi Instansi Pemerintah yang menerapkan Pola Pengelolaan Keuangan Badan Layanan Umum.

Declared as C Class Hospital by Ministry of Health (136/Menkes/SK/IV/78, April 28, 1978).

1980 - 1993

In 1992, declared as B Class Hospital Non Education by Ministry of Health
(1040/Menkes/SK/XI/1992, November 19, 19920).

1993 - 2001

Director: Edi Djunaedi, MD, Ophth
In 2000, accrrdited for 5 kind of service administration and management, medical service, nursing, medical record and emergency.

2002 - Now

Director: Farida Sirlan, MD, PhD., Ophth

2005

Accredited for 12 kinds of services: administration and management medical services, nursing, medical record, emergency, surgery, laboratory, pharmacy, electrodiagnostic, work health and safety (K3), nosokomial infection and pediatric ophthalmology.

2006

Accredited A for Ophthalmologist Education.
Preparation to be the public services hospital independently.

2007

Formally established as:

  1. Grade A of Teaching Hospital
  2. Public Services Hospital
